Adityapuram Soorya Deva Temple
From the vedic times the people of Bharat worshipped the Sun God.  But temples dedicated to the Sun God are very few in number. The temple is situated in ‘Iravimangalam Kara’ in Kottayam District, Vaikom Taluk and Kaduthuruthi Panchayat. “Raktachandanam” is the special ‘Prasadam’ of this temple.  Sundays are important days.
Chirakkadavu Sree Mahadeva Temple
The Chirakkadavu Mahadeva Temple is situated between the Kollam-Theni routes of the National Highway about 32 kms east of the Kottayam town.  It is a very Ancient Temple about 1000 years old and the idol is a Swayambhu Siva Lingam which was found under a ‘Bilwa Tree’. The “Velakali” of Sri Mahadeva temple performed during the festival time is a very rare item. 
Erumeli Dharma Sastha Temple
The temple situates in Erumeli of Kottayam district.  In Kottayam-Kumali route 12 km away from 26th mile stop.  The presiding deity is Sasthavu, facing the cast.  Thanthram is Thazhamon.  The sub-deity is Bhagavathy. 
Ettumanoor Mahadeva Temple
This temple is situated at Ettumanoor in Kottayam district. It is one among the 32 ancient Namboodiri villages in Kerala and is a Village temple. The presiding deity is Lord Shiva and the installation is a big Lingam. The appearance of the lord here is as one like a destroyer, in the Sarabeshamoorthy style. The round Sanctum Sanctorum faces west.
Illathappan Kavu Temple
Illathappan Kavu  is a rare temple in Kerala, where the diety is Sree Chacra.  It is situated in Kanjirapally Taluk at Tamabalakkad Village in Kottayam Dist. 
Kaduthuruthy Thali Temple
Kaduthuruthy Thali Temple is one among the oldest Thali temples in Kaduthuruthy of Kottayam district.  Main idol is Siva supposed to be a meditating Siva with huge size. 
Kidangoor Subramanya Swami Temple
This temple is one of the ancient temples of Kerala.  It is a kilometer away from the Ettumanur-Punjar Highway by the south side of Kidangur-Manarkad road. Bharata Muni’s concept of Natya Shastra is evident in the sculptural work inside the Kuthambalam.  So this is different from all other Kuthambalams of various temples of Kerala.  It is believed that the Kuthambalam was constructed by Perunthachan. 
Kondamarugu Sree Porkali Temple
The Kondamarugu SreePorkali temple is situated in Methiri village of Ramapuram Panchayath in Kottayam district.  It is believed that this temple is about 1500 years old.
Kumaranalloor  Sree Bhagavathy Temple
This ancient temple has been identified by Sree Adi Sankaracharya as one of the five important centers in the whole of India for Durga Ardhana. Lakhs of devotees throng here for worship during the annual festival in November-December (Vrischika month). Karthika is the most important day during the festival.
Malliyoor Mahaganapathi Temple
The Malliyoor Maha Ganapathi temple is situated in Kuruppanthara in Manjoor Panchayat of Kottayam District.  It is a very ancient temple. 
Manarcadu Sree Bhagavathy Temple
10 kilometers east of Kottayam town and 1 ½ km from Manarcadu junction at Kidangoor road side situates this Devi temple. Kumbha Bharani, Meena Bharani and Pathamudayam are the main annual festivals of the temple.
Palliyamburam Sree Mahadeva Kshetram
The Palliyamburam Sree Mahadeva temple is situated 1½ km away to the North of Sree Ramaswamy temple of Ramapuram, facing the Ramapuram -Koothattukulam road. 
Pampady Cheruvallikavu Devi Temple
Cheruvallikavu Devi Temple is located in South Pampady, 5 kms away from Pampady to Karukachal route, the eastern side of the Kottayam district. The presiding Diety is Bhadrakali facing to east with Sreekrishna, Ayyappa, Nagaraj and other sub-dieties.
Panachikkadu Saraswathy Temple
Panachikkadu Saraswathi temple known as Dakshina Mookambika in South India situates in Panachikkadu village is about 11 km south east of Kottayam railay station.  Lord Mahavishnu is the main deity of the temple. Devotees from all over Kerala are coming daily here for worship irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
Perunna Subramania Temple
This temple is situated in Perunna, three kilometers away from Changanacherry. The presiding deity is Subramanian, and the idol is almost six feet in height. The Vel which the Lord is holding is pointed downwards.
Poothrukkovil Temple
This is a very sacred and important pilgrim centre of Kerala.  It can be said to be a close replica of the famous ‘Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple’. 
Puthiyakavu Devi Temple
This is a very ancient Devi Temple situated in Ponkunnam.  It was famous even during the times of the kings.  People of all castes and creed offer worship to the Devi of Puthiyakavu.
Puthumana Maha Ganapathy Devasthanam
On the Kottayam-Changanassery route, 1½ kms from Thuruti Jn. on the way to Kavalam in the Sasthangal Junction this holy Devasthanam is situated. 21 different idols of Ganapathi representing various Bhavas (expressions) are worshipped here.
Soorya Kalady Maha Ganapathy Temple
It is known that in a shrine in the eastern side of the Surya Kalady Mana sits Sri Maha Ganapathy giving all prosperities to and removing all hurdles of this family.  Differing from the normal shape here, Genapathy sits with ten hands and his wife ‘Vibhodhi’. 
Thaliyil Mahadeva Temple
In Kottayam-Kumarakom route near Uppoottikavala stop in Thazhathangadi of Kottayam town situates this famous temple with main idol Siva.  The idol has good size and height.  Shrine is round in shape facing west.
Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple
In the heart of Kottayam town is this 500 year old temple built by the Thekkumkoor Maharajah. The Koothambalam, the special building in the temple premises used for cultural purposes, is one of the best in Kerala.  Thirunakkara Mahadeva Temple is one among the 108 Siva temples at Kerala.
Thirunakkara Sree Krishna Swamy Temple
The Thirunakkara Sree Krishna Swamy Temple is centuries old. The deity is the Universal Incarnation of Supreme Lord Sree Krishna.  The holy tombs of great monks of the hermitage are located in the temple premises.
Vaikom Dharmasastha Temple
Vaikom in Kottayam District is famous for its part in India’s freedom fight.  At North gate of Vaikom between Mahadeva temple and Udayanapuram temple, 150 mts far from Valiyakavala, facing south –east, situates this temple.  Besides Dharmasastha Bhagavathy, Ganapathy, Subrahmanya Swamy, Hanuman Swamy and Brahmarakshas also are consecrated in this temple.
Vaikom Mahadeva temple
This is one of the major temples of India and the most acclaimed Siva temple in the south.  This temple is believed to be the second version of Kasi.The Vaikom temple is an ideal example for architectural marvel, a rare blend of Dravidian temple architecture and Bharathiya Vaastu Sastra.
